The Planning
Commission reported strong public concern about locating
pornography production facilities in the Mission. The
community wants input as to the appropriateness of the location.
They have
proposed holding a planning commission meeting to address this
issue. While the planning Commission was not willing to
take corrective action in the case of the Armory, since
permission had already been granted and a building sale had
occurred, they seem willing to work with the community to make
zoning changes that will allow for community input
before this happens in the future.
There is no date set yet. We need to keep the pressure on
to tie these regulations to the ongoing Mission Rezoning, which
is set for completion by
the end of the year.

I live/work in the Mission.
We were told that, under the Draft zoning plan. "Adult
Entertainment" would require a
conditional use permit before locating in the
Mission District. Also, NC-17 film production
would be listed under "Adult Entertainment." Please follow
through by including these provisions in the new zoning planned
for the Mission.

adult film capital of the world.
I don't think that is a bad thing."
